A stunning vertical tower of the most intense azure color, like the best azurite, this is actually a large single linarite crystal from the most famous Arizona locale for the species. It is a 2.0 cm tall, lustrous, freestanding, transparent vitreous royal blue cluster. From Evan Jones (Unique Minerals, Phoenix, Arizona) on September 13, 2013, at the Denver Gem and Mineral Show. States “Collected 1992” on back side of label. This is a serious Arizona piece, but also an incredible example for the species in thumbnail size - or any size. Photo: Jeff Scovil (2013-03-0125). Photos of this specimen can be found in: Minerals: The Collector’s Newspaper, 2014; 8: 18.
