Tourmaline
A gorgeous example of the rare, but classic, Afghani blue indicolite tourmalines. This is a sizable full miniature, perfect and pristine and complete all around without damage or restorations. The crystal is 2.7 cm across at widest dimension and actually the termination still has some embedded pocket clay or contact on it, indicating that it has never gone to a modern lab for cleaning (and why would it? Dr. Pohl bought directly from sources and never gave anything out again for cleaning). Blue tourmaline like this is the most rare color from Afghanistan and is somewhat rare in this style as well. 65 grams. Dr. Erika Pohl-Ströher - SCH162
