Silver on Copper$3,850.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
Copper-Silver half breeds from Michigan aren't common and they are always fun to see when they (seldom!) come available, because of their distinctly contrasting copper-red and silver colors as you see here. This large Copper-Silver "half breed" is from the world renowned, but long depleted, copper deposits in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. This handsome specimen is a slightly rounded copper mass (with crude crystalline shapes showing clearly) with an unusual silver knob atop a larger, sculptural body of Copper. It is a very compelling specimen and unusual in the richness of both metals without showing intermixing. While we cannot say which mine it is from with certainty, it is likely from the Quincy Mine. When we do not know, we'd rather avoid selling with a "confirmed" locality. Over 9 ounces, or 274 grams! This is a dramatic one! In our archives, I found that we first sold this, some 20 years ago.
