Short, green Quartz crystals lacking prism faces are stacked in parallel growth are embellished with numerous brownish Andradite Garnet crystals. The Huanggang Mine has produced so many aesthetic combinations specimens of a variety of mineral species and this is one of those! The dipyramidal, elongate bundle of almost beta-looking Quartz are festooned with inclusions of Hedenbergite to produce an artful stack of dark green crystals that are then graced with 2 to 4mm, medium brown and lustrous Andradite Garnet crystals in clusters on one end and one side. The prodigious amount of Hedenbergite in the Quartz is responsible for satin to dull luster of the Quartz because the tiny Hedenbergite actually make it to the surface. The Quartz stack is perfectly terminated although one termination is hidden by a cluster of Andradite. A showy and interesting combination miniature !
