Chrome Cerussite
Entirely composed of lustrous and translucent yellow Cerussite crystals to almost 1 cm, this material is super-rare due to the fact that its coloration is attributed to trace amounts of chromium in the crystal structure. The Dundas Extended Mine was mined exclusively for specimens in recent years and is one of several occurrences of Chrome Cerussite in the Dundas area. This piece consists of delicate clusters of lemon-yellow, reticulated Chrome Cerussite crystals that resemble intergrown yellow snowflakes. A great example of this rare Cerussite variety, found in this quality in only a few pockets during the life of the mine! Purchased by previous owner in Tasmania in 1996, from the miner Mike Phelan.
