A stout, textbook-shaped, translucent pink Ruby crystal from Macedonia. This tabular, hexagonal (rhombohedral) crystal of Corundum var. Ruby exhibits a medium pink color with a hint of purple. It's is a textbook crystal of Ruby with well-developed crystal faces and, as a plus, it exhibits twinning with the twin plane evident where two sets of pyramid faces meet and the plane is parallel to the two large, flat hexagon-shaped terminations. Ultraviolet light reveals some hidden beauty! In short-wave UV it glows a nice orange and in long-wave UV the crystal explodes with vibrant red pink. A great Ruby crystal with exceptional crystallography. 44 grams.
