This small cabinet piece is a FINE example of the stunning Rutile crystals that have been come out of Bahia, Brazil, although a bit unusual in its richness and mass for the size. The shimmering needles of golden Rutile, up to 2.5 cm long, grow up from a matrix of Hematite. This specimen is a virtual 'nest' of Rutile needles, with many showing a clear orientation that is reflective of the Hematite below. Instantly recognizable for their distinct beauty, these Rutile/Hematite combinations have earned their fine reputation for aesthetics and interest. This specimen looks fragile and it is, in a way. One must be careful in handling it, but it is also more robust than most. While hand delivery is preferred, we believe we can ship it safely, as well.
