Very architectural specimen of distorted, octahedral, splendent, gunmetal gray acanthite after argentite from the noted Hongda Mine in China. Individual elongated crystals are up to 3.7 cm in maximum dimension stacked very artistically. The acanthite crystal faces display slight skeletal structure for added affect. This represents an important find for the species and certainly represent the best specimens from Asia. It is nearly a complete floater with no visible point of attachment and the piece displays perfectly in a custom engraved acrylic base. Complete all around, elegantly vertical, this is a superb acanthite by any standard from any other locality.
