Fluorite with Quartz

A maximum-contrast piece composed of dark, purple-blue fluorite on white frosted quartz. The fluorites are textured from cube and octahedron faces competing for prominence resulting complex crystals like none we have seen before. Individual fluorite crystals range in size from 2 to 4.1cm across and individual quartz crystals are up to 8.5cm in length. Many of these high contrast pieces have been produced from Huanggang showing small to medium fluorites decorating white quartz; however, this one is atypical in that the large, complexly-textured fluorite cubes feature prominently and the quartz crystals are quite large as well. It is a much better "balance," than most of this material which I find too jumbly for my tastes. In excellent condition with no flaws. The piece does have a sawn back, from mining, to get it out, but it displays vertically and is complete on all other sides. Comes with a custom acrylic base for easy display. From 2017-2018 finds here, after the bulk of the mining a few years previously which produced smaller, more cuboctahedral crystals.
