Panasqueira has produced fabulous apatite crystals and, more rarely, generally mediocre fluorites. However, it is in the combination pieces that the locality really excels: here is a lustrous and translucent, light olive green crystal of fluorapatite, measuring 3.2 cm in length, is wreathed by a crystal druse of sparkling, amethystine-colored fluorite that is so much prettier than most fluorite from the mine. A most unusual combination from Panasqueira!
