Seldom do you see a large tetragonal crystal of Scheelite on matrix from this classic locality. And this one is huge for the locale: The crystal measures roughly 4 x 4 x 3.2 cm in size and sits nicely on matrix. It is not quite complete on one corner and it was contacted partially on the back, but it is excellent from the front and sides. The luster is good, and the color is goldenrod-yellow, quite unique from other locales. As you might imagine, the fluorescence is a vivid whitish-blue. A Scheelite of this size and quality is quite rare, and the aesthetics are very good. Ex. personal collections of Lawrence Conklin and Albert Sebela (mid-1900s), and then to Herb Obodda.
