Scheelite is rare from this mine, despite how many other things it produces - and this is a HUGE single crystal of the location! This 5 cm, dipyramidal Scheelite crystal is remarkable for Yaogangxian or any location. The superb luster and razor-sharp edges are immediately eye-catching, and with the right light you can discern the translucence. The rich, smoky-brown color is characteristic for Yaogangxian Scheelites, and the blue-white fluorescence is quite strong. The base is, of course, contacted, as well as part of the back, and there is also a tiny bit of edgewear - trivial in context. Nonetheless, for THIS locality, and for Hunan Province, this is a considerable specimen. It is actually beautiful and shiny, unlike most others from the mine in the past. From a small pocket of 2019.
