These colorful, multi-hued iridescent, imaginative clusters are complex overgrowths and intergrowths of Djurleite and Chalcocite, usually at the core of the clusters, coated with Chalcopyrite. This is a mineralogical menagerie of color with its mesmerizing iridescent blue and purple hues in the intergrown copper minerals, culminating in these artistic, very sculptural and almost ornamental pieces that are some of the most intriguing and beautiful mineralogical oddities ever found! This happens to be a stunning cabinet piece from that find. These dramatic Chalcopyrite-Chalcocite-Djurleite specimens were acquired by us in China in 2012 and 2013 and represented some of the most noted mineral discoveries in China at that time, not equaled or repeated since! One of the larger specimens in good condition.
