We have all seen numerous gemmy, translucent, transparent fluorites of varying styles from the famous fluorite district of Spain... but this one stands out among all for the shocking quality and clarity. It has a riveting strong purple color despite the clarity, itself unusual. It looks like carved glass, for lack of other words. At first glance from a distance it looks undamaged, and ONLY if you get very close, within inches, is there is some trivial edge wear: very tiny - but then, it has never been to a lab either and that could be restored with tiny applications of epoxy if anybody cares. The photos only show it at an extreme. We have chosen not to restore those tiny tiny dings. They simply do not matter. It is such a stunning jewel of a piece, one of the finest truly GEM fluorites we have seen from anywhere. Old material from the 1980s or earlier. Dr. Erika Pohl-Ströher - 54865
