Classic Swiss minerals from a single amazing find in 1974, this is a nice matrix example of kyanite from the high Alps. It is associated with small crystals of staurolite. These specimens are of course eclipsed by modern material from Brazil, but the geology and origin is very different, and these will always be old classics. The large crystals is translucent, and is 3 cm long. A fine example of Swiss material, provided to the collection as he was building it out by Swiss multigenerational dealership Siber & Siber in 2015.
