Large, stunning translucent Rhodochrosite rhomb embellished with purple Fluorite. Fully saturated raspberry pink-red, perfect single crystal that is a full two and one-quarter inches across! The edges of the Rhodochrosite are sharp with stepped areas of parallel growth. The faces are well-formed and have very good luster. One side and the back of the crystal could be interpreted as cleavage faces. It is accentuated by several medium to dark purple Fluorite crystals to 1cm for stunning contrast. Most of the Fluorites occur in small, patchy to linear groups of 1 to 2mm crystals around the edges of the Rhodochrosite. A significant pair of larger and darker purple crystals are found on one end. 70 grams. This is old material from the mid 1990's.
