The 1960s saw a sudden burst of fabulous specimens from the famous Panasqueira mine, and these remain among the most classic of all European mineral discoveries nearly 50 years later in 2024. This piece is a balanced, really impactful miniature sized specimen with a single perfect, complete-all-around apatite crystal perched upon a quartz point. It could not be made better if you wanted to, and look carved. The color of the apatite is strong, a deep blue-purple band in the middle; and with the top glassy and bright luster. While more crystals were found again here not long ago, nothing really equalled this classic older look and style of color and pattern. This is an important, fine miniature from the heyday of one of the world's important specimen mines. Note: this specimen shows up more navy in the video's LEDs and has more denim and teal undertones in-person. Dr. Erika Pohl-Ströher - 52680
