Apatite from Morocco's Imilchil Mine is well-known, generally as small sharp crystals from 1-3 cm. This is a monster! The crystal is a huge, doubly-terminated barrel shape, of solid apatite! It is dramatic and so impressive in size and weight, that at first glance you see the geometry of this elongated six-sided prism and assume that you are looking at a heliodor beryl. It is colorful, although not particularly glassy or translucent. We bought this at a show ages ago and have not seen comparable.
Known provenanceKnowing where your specimen comes from and who owned it adds to its story and value. Good provenance helps prove it's authentic and preserves important details about its discovery.
