An old-time and classic piece from the long-closed Tilly Foster Mine of New York of three, sharp, lustrous, partially gemmy, rust-brown chondrodite crystals to 1.0 cm nicely set on contrasting matrix. This is a highly representative and showy piece from this famous iron mine (magnetite ore), that closed in 1897. Ex. George Elling Collection.
