A highly lustrous, 2.2 cm, deep wine-red, twinned rutile crystal with gemmy highlights pleasingly set atop pyrophyllite matrix from the famous Champion Mine of Mono County, California! Very nearly pristine, with only trivial edge wear. Ex. George Elling Collection. Old material, MUCH more rare than rutile from Georgia, in the US.
