WOW! This is a HUGE single crystal for the locality, of unusually rich limey-green color for ANY sphene locality, and it is sharply formed and twinned. What is more, it has great luster on the frontal display as shown (though the twinning plane is coated with ingrown chlorite). This has to be one of the best large Brazilian sphenes on the market, and certainly would rank up there in terms of anything dug out of the ground. In person, it is even more impressive. Normally this is a species that doesn't excite me but this crystal surprised me. These were found, I am told, in the late-80s but I have never seen one of such magntitude on the market.
