A fine, old-time manganite and baryte specimen from the Ilfeld area of Germany. Two superbly splendent, black manganite crystals, to 3.8 cm, are beautifully perched in a vug accented with baryte atop a massive manganite matrix. These old pieces came out in about 1886-1888 (per Bancroft's book) .
