Shockingly few large plates survived mining and transport. Plumbogummite is a soft mineral. For the saturated, good color, and without too much damage, there were almost no specimens in this size range that I felt worth taking when I saw them in China. This large plate has the best color, and a wet, slightly sparkling luster to the surface of the translucent botryoidal bubbly growths. It is nearly pristine with just a few trivial dings (and that mostly off to one side). The sheer richness of just this one plate exceeds all the old English specimens of the species I had ever held in my hands over 20 years - just unprecedented.
