These very distinctive tapering compound crystals of tourmaline are well-known from Vietnam, but almost always as standalone crystals. This is a rare MATRIX specimen - and not only that, but the tourmaline itself is exquisite, being complete all around and attached to the matrix in such a way that it is exposed all the way around. All the sub-terminations are complete - the crystal is in extraordinary condition.
