Pyrargyrite is the so-called "ruby silver" gem species that is a little more glamorous than silver itself to most of us because of the color. It comes in sharp crystals from a number of localities, of course but these robust crystals from Peru would be standouts compared to any pyrargyrite from any other locale; and for Peru they are superb. With crystals to 2 cm, this robust cluster is a large thumbnail or toenail size overall. It is complete-all-around. The symmetry of these crystals is unusual for a species in which large crystals tend to deform (at least from many locales). Ex. Jaime Bird and Jean Hamel Collections.
