This is a classic Bisbee old-timer with a Eugene Sensel label; on the back of the label is typed: "Old Poughkeepsie Coll., 1938) - so that is 70 years ago! The specimen is a thick vein of malachite, velvety on its surface with botryoidal forms emerging, that pseudomorphed from the primary pisolitic (cave growth) azurite that preceded it. The specimen is pretty much solid malachite. The accompanying labels show the piece to have passed at some point through dealer John Betts and the collection of Dave Stoudt in addition to Sensel.
