Natural citrine crystals are quite rare in nature, and most citrine available on the market is irradiated to produce the color, a ruddy orange. This amber color is natural, though. This specimen of citrine quartz has many things going for it. To start, this citrine is totally facetable! This slightly etched, well formed crystal of citrine, is transparent and facetable for most of its length. The gorgeous color is slightly lighter than that of the crystal with hoppered growth (a volumetric effect), but this crystal exhibits a more elongated, classic growth. The crystal is complete, though contacted around the bottom perimeter for the first two inches - I was tempted to simply remove that part of the crystal, leaving a smooth base, but it IS just contact and not damage, and the height is appealing, but the trim can be done on demand if the buyer wishes. The specimen weighs 434 grams.
