The specimen consists of azurite crystals up to 5 cm in length that have altered to green malachite, retaining the form of the azurite prisms. There are probably a dozen crystals here, with a surface somewhere between green velvet and an oxidized copper patina (which is close to the reality of what you are looking at, chemically). A large, sculptural, and significant specimen.
