Microlite is an uncommon oxide found in albitized granite pegmatites and is the tantalum analogue of pyrochlore. The sharp, lustrous, multi-faceted, variegated, brown crystal is from a famous Virginia locale - the Amelia Courthouse. One of the last major American Civil War battles was held nearby in April, 1865. This is a nearly pristine, complete-all-around crystal from this classic locale. Ex. Carl Davis Collection.
