Superb grouping of highly lustrous Melanites densely populating the matrix. The crystals are jet-black, which contrast nicely with the tan color below. The largest crystal is 1.1 cm across, which is pretty astounding for this variety. With such incredible luster, and the crystals being in such good condition, this surely must qualify a great "black" mineral! Ex. Steve Smale Collection.
