A spectacular and showy, two-sided specimen of a glassy, translucent, golden-amber vlasovite crystal frozen in glassy, cherry-red eudialyte matrix. A white rind of gittinsite surrounds the vlasovite. Vlasovite and gittinsite are very rare zirconium silicates, found only in a few alkaline massifs worldwide. There is even a 1.2 cm gem section of eudialyte on this piece. The Kipawa Complex is the Type Locality for gittinsite. This is a superb example. Vlasovite fluoresces a moderate yellow under UV illumination.
