A 2.5 cm, sharp, lustrous, brown staurolite crystal is aesthetically set in a cabinet-sized matrix of sculptural, sparkly biotite schist. Staurolite is known from the much less common Petaca District of New Mexico, but is rarely seen and is very rarely available. Smaller staurolites are scattered on both the front and back of the matrix. Old-time material from the Mullane Collection.
