This is a dramatic and classic twinned cerussite of 1960s or 1970s vintage. However, it is unusual in the obvious fact that it is a doublet, a twinned cerussite perched in the air upon another one! It reminded us of acrobats balancing on one another in the circus. Most cerussite from Tsumeb, even if twinned of this habit, is in the shape of single crystals. Clusters like this are extremely uncommon. The piece is in exceptional condition and has no repairs. It is surprisingly complete on the back and even on the bottom! 360 degrees around. It was formerly in the collections of Larry Conklin and Herb Obodda. Joe Budd photos.
