This is an exquisite reticulated cerussite, that at first glance LOOKS like it is from the classic and unique find at Tsumeb in the early 1970s by geologist/collector John Innes - the so-called "gracile" style which has been in high demand ever since. But, this is more robust in depth and less fragile than those typically were. In fact, it IS from Morocco, from recent finds actually (about 2007 or early 2008), and was said to be the best such example sold at the St Marie show in summer of 2008. It was purchased at that time by the US collectors, the Sussmans, for their general Moroccan collection, which they have since sold to me in order to pursue another geographic focus. It is shockingly pristine, and complete all around. In person, it sparkles with an adamantine luster and a brightness hard to convey. For the same price, you can get a "typical" and "nice" Tsumeb piece of about this size, OR you can get among the best we have yet seen Morocco produce - and I think this has a unique pizzazz to it, overall.
