A colorful blue to blue-green Chrysocolla matrix is host to vug containing an undulating surface of Chrysocolla which has, in turn, been covered with a druse of sparkling Quartz. The color of the Chrysocolla is a magnificent sky-blue and the scintillating drusy Quartz accentuates the color and richness of the piece making these classic Ray Mine, Arizona, specimens highly desired among collectors not only by those specializing in Arizona or copper minerals but collectors in general due to their uniqueness and "displayability"! of the chrysocolla specimens from this classic old locality. This is a great piece for the overall form and size as well as good color intensity! Old classic material. Often, such pieces as this are (horror!) cut up and used for lapidary jewelry, set in pendants and the like. This is a rare surviving specimen that is of carving quality, and perhaps it is worth more cut into pieces for jewelry - but we will not do that!
