This piece is a nice, relatively sharp, well-formed, blue-green color Amazonite crystal with a distinctive and somewhat lustrous white "cap." The best of these "white cap" Amazonites are highly valued among collectors, and seldom are they ever found in the large pegmatite region around Lake George, Colorado. Keep in mind that this specimen was collected nearly 30 years ago (July 1980), when Richard Kosnar found some of the finest color Amazonite from Colorado extant. Ex. Richard Kosnar Collection.
