This is a green fluorite of superior quality, from the old fluorspar mining district of Durham. It is from the noted collection of German mineral collector Uli Burchard and was chosen by him for its unusually high degree of luster, clarity, and condition. It is an old piece, quite distinct in quality and tone from material mined recently at nearby properties. The glassiness and deep, rich color really make it stand out.
