A CLASSIC, OLD-TIME specimen of glassy and gemmy, clove-brown to olive-brown vesuvianite crystals to 1.8 cm on matrix from the famous Ala Valley of Italy. The accompanying label says that the piece was collected in the late 1940s. The scattered damage is certainly not too detracting from this classic Italian piece.
