Marcasite, Baryte
Unknown Owner
A very unusual looking, very fine combination piece from the ancient and famous Stari Trg Mine at Trepca, Kosovo. The bladed baryte matrix is richly covered with sculptural aggregates of bronzy marcasite. The marcasites have a rounded, botryoidal form that look like mushroom caps. A label in German is attached to the bottom. Ex. Wes Parker Collection.
