Franklin is famous for its fluorescent mineral suite, so to find a tourmaline from there, and such a nice colorful one at that, is a real treat. I have never seen one before, myself, and am told that like the above piece they date to the (late) 1800s in most likelihood. This uvite has an excellent grass-green color, very good crystal faces, and terrific luster. It is contacted in the back, but that is a small trade for having such a gem. 2.2 x 1.6 x 1.5 cm
