This specimen is from a batch we got of very interesting quartz specimens from KENYA - including large, colorless crystals, and these more modest-sized amethystine crystals. The color is isolated in these intense blushes inside the otherwise colorless quartz, as with Brandberg crystals. The exterior surface of these is rather rough.
