Here is a classic cluster of large, metallic, almost burnished looking Hematite crystals from Elba, Italy, of a style seen in old specimens with labels from the 1800s. This famous locality has produced some fantastic Hematite specimens and this one is an excellent small cabinet piece with the largest crystal measuring an amazing 5.5cm across! The Hematite crystals are well formed with complex, tabular morphology and exhibit great luster. Also, they have a beautiful multi colored iridescent patina to them It sits fine on its own for dramatic display! Minor contacting on one of the crystals and then contacting at the bottom and back where the piece was removed from the pocket. An excellent Hematite from Elba - surely from old finds of the 1800s or early 1900s, judging by style.
