Mordenite, Quartz
The famous quarries around Jalgaon continue to produce stunning zeolite species and this is certainly a prime example. The well-prepared, large cabinet, elongated basalt vesicle is spectacularly covered with snow-white, spiky balls of mordenite. They look like a colony of sea uchins. The translucent, lustrous, drusy quartz is a superb compliment to the mordenite. The large ball is 2.8 cm across. Mordenite is one of the rarer zeolite minerals and this is an outstanding example from this locale.
