A really fine, old-time, two-sided specimen of lustrous, platy, scarlet quartz coating both sides of a curved hematite fragment. Very interestingly, the quartz has different colors of red on each side. Iron oxides are uniquely causing the variable red coloration in the quartz. This fine and classic old-timer is from the Parkside Mine, Frizington, England. Ex. Richard Hauck Collection.
