While this specimen has the characteristic “melted” style of Fresnillo Acanthite, a distinctive formation of stacked cubic crystals remains. This piece displays the classic bright, silvery metallic luster that makes the Zacatecas locality stand out. Fresnillo is one of the largest silver districts in history and famously produces these exceptionally lustrous silver sulfides. This piece is complete all the way around, and some of the approximately 1 cm crystals showcase the hoppered growth habit associated with the locality. This specimen was a part of the Ed David collection and even comes with one of his original bases. A worthwhile addition to any display collection.
