Rhodochrosite - N'Chwaning II Mine, South Africa
specimen
Rhodochrosite
Description
A really unusual specimen of highly lustrous, botryoidal, salmon-flesh-red rhodochrosite from the famed N'Chwaning II Mine. This very fine piece was collected in 1976-77, just before most of the more common styles of scalenohedral crystals were found. The salmon-red rind is underlain by very gemmy, dark cherry-red rhodochrosite.
