A fine, sculptural large cabinet specimen from the Kelly Mine of New Mexico. The large vugs and flutes of this striking piece are covered with baryte blades, which in turn are coated with two generations of smithsonite. The first generation smithsonite in the vug interiors is classic, light Kelly blue and really sparkles, while the second generation smithsonite on the flute edges is powder-blue and has a bit less luster and sparkle. This is classic, older Kelly combination material and the base of the silicified limestone matrix is richly covered with baryte blades.
