Tourmalines with blue caps have a mystique all their own, probably because of the famous ones that came out of California and have become super-valuable. The Sappo Mine produced some a few years back, and of course they are long gone. This is an unusual example from the Cruzeiro Mine. The lower part has the typical gemmy green rind wrapped around a pink interior. But the cap is a bright teal blue! And, the crystal has a fine, two-tiered termination! Weighs 26 grams. Ex. Elling Collection.
