Boracite - Germany, Lower Saxony
specimen
Boracite
Description
These boracites are NOT the typical modified crystals you see from Hanover .... these are much more rare, from the Harz mining district! (NOTE: Borates do occur only at the southeastern rim of the Harz Mts, near Niedersachswerfen, but boracite has not been reported from this deposit - the specimen likely comes from one of the deposits in Lower Saxony) Sharp pyramidal crystals to 4 mm! 3 x 2.5 x 1 cm
