Enargite is a Holy Grail mineral species for Butte and the Enargites from here are considered the best in the world. This showy specimen is highlighted by an upright, lustrous, striated, 1.9 cm crystal that is complemented by several smaller, sharp crystals, all on a matrix of solid Enargites. The terminations on the Enargites are smooth, sharp, and superb. This excellent piece is from the Stewart Mine and is highly representative of the species and locale. Excellent aesthetics, not unlike the great Manganites from Ilfeld. More properly now, a "Toenail" in size. This is probably from the 1960s or prior times.
